Blog Description
This is what it's like for a 22-year-old American woman to live in Japan. I am spending 10 months as an English TA for Shirayuri College in Tokyo. No, I don't speak Japanese, yet. Share in my fears and excitements, embarrassments and triumphs.
What it's like to live in Tokyo
In a lot of ways, its like living in America.
Imagine living in a suburb. It's densly populated and has the public transportation and neighbothood shopping are's of New York City. Have that image?
Now put it in a language you don't understand much of yet, with the occasional random (and sometimes poorly translated) English phrase or word around you on packaging and signs.
That's what it's like to live in Tokyo.
